The maquette is extremely well executed in depth and vision, crisp detail with black and white colours, wood texture with crisp paint, print and text to the name and date plates, outline and of quality.
This maquette in the style of Dame Barbara Hepworth's famous 'Two Spheres in Orbit' 1973; which is now in the Tate Modern.  The third photograph shows the original.

It is constructed from hardwood spheres on a composite wood plinth.  It is sized to a 70 mm diameter sphere. The original sculpture is shown in the photographs.  
It is the work of David Boyd, who is a scientist specialising in scientific and geometric artworks.
