
A late 19th century striking and repeating gorge cased carriage clock Japy Frères The case surmounted by a brass carrying handle over an oval observation window with repeat button, the arched top with moulded sides and glazed observation windows, terminating in a moulded base. The 3 inch white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, Breguet-style blued steel hands, and an Arabic alarm setting dial. The two-train movement signed Japy Frères, fitted with a lever platform escapement, striking the hours and half hours on a polished bell mounted to the backplate, the alarm wound from the top left side and sounding on the same bell, currently ticking and striking. 18cms (7ins) high.
