
A mid 19th century French one piece case carriage clock with Jules platform escapement Jules, Paris, No. 876 The case sumounted by a decorated carrying handle over a large observation window with simple sides terminating in a moulded plinth base. The 2.5 inch white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and Breguet style blued steel hands signed beneath Jules Paris, framed by a simple gilt sight ring with floral engraved details. The twin train movement signed on the back plate and numbered No. 876 with count wheel strike on a polished bell mounted to the back, with a typical Jules lever platform escapement, currently ticking and striking 16cms (6.25ins) high.
