The large, central characters are written with a "wet" brush, allowing for subtle tonal gradations in the ink, while the swift movements create a sense of continuous motion across the paper.  The inscription on the left provides context for the piece, noting it was dedicated to a contemporary and dated to the Jisi year (1989). It concludes with the signature of Ou Haonian and is accompanied by several red artist seals, including one in the upper right and others following the signature.
