Title: Victorian Mahogany Harp Shaped Toilet Mirror c.1850
Description: Victorian Mahogany Harp Shaped Toilet Mirror, c.1850
A finely proportioned mid-19th century Victorian mahogany toilet mirror of elegant harp-shaped form, retaining its original mirror plate and raised on a beautifully shaped serpentine platform base.
The arched rectangular mirror is framed in richly figured mahogany with warm colour and attractive natural patina throughout.
The distinctive scrolling supports, carved with restrained foliate ornament, terminate in graceful volutes and are joined by a decorative central stretcher, giving the piece a refined sculptural quality influenced by late Regency and William IV design.
The original mirror plate survives with pleasing age-related foxing and minor losses to the silvering, particularly to the upper corner, entirely consistent with age and adding character to the piece.
The mirror remains clear and practical for use.
The base stands on compressed bun feet and displays good grain and mellow colour throughout.

Good antique condition overall, with age-related wear and surface marks consistent with use.
