A decorative Italian Rococo-style wall mirror with an elaborately carved giltwood frame of oval form.

The frame is richly ornamented with scrolling acanthus foliage, pierced rocaille decoration and an elaborate foliate crest.
The carving extends around the frame with flowing C-scrolls and openwork elements, giving the piece a light and sculptural quality.
The oval mirror plate is enclosed within a moulded gilt slip.

The surface retains softly worn gilding over gesso, producing a warm tone and pleasing decorative character.

Florentine work, dating to the mid to late 20th century.

A striking wall mirror with good scale and presence, suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
