Description
Marilyn Monroe for "Poolside Session" in Beverly Hills, May 26, 1950, Original 2.25" Camera Negatives (12) by Bob Beerman for Modern Screen. Vintage 2.25" camera negatives (12) on Kodak safety film of Marilyn Monroe for "Poolside Session" in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, May 26, 1950, by Bob Beerman for Modern Screen. An early and well-documented pin-up session photographed poolside in Beverly Hills—assumed to be the backyard of Johnny Hyde's residence at 708 North Palm Drive, Beverly Hills—showing Monroe in a swimsuit at a pivotal moment in her "starlet" period. Photographs from this sitting were reproduced in Modern Screen and achieved notable contemporary recognition, with an image from the session receiving Screen Album magazine's "Outstanding Pin-Up Photo of the Year." The timing is critical: taken as Monroe was gaining attention through The Asphalt Jungle and All About Eve (both 1950), the session reflects her transition from contract hopeful to emerging screen presence. Very Fine+, with light water blemish to (2). Sold with copyright. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
