A Victorian silver inkstand J Round, Sheffield 1894 Shaped oblong stand embossed with floral scrolls, with two pen recesses either side of a circular receiver, fitted with a silver-mounted cut glass ink bottle (H Matthews, Birmingham 1894), with presentation inscription 'Presented to the Rt Hon William Wells, Viscount Sidmouth by the tenants & Servants and the Parishoners of Upottery as a mark of their high esteem. The Honourable William Wells Addington (1824 - 1913) Born on 25 March 1824, William Wells Addington was the son of Reverend William Leonard Addington, 2nd Viscount Sidmouth, who was the eldest son of the Prime Minister Henry Addington, 1st Viscount Sidmouth. Lord Sidmouth served for some twenty years in the navy, which he left for politics. The heir to the title is his son, the Hon. Gerald Addington' (Dundee Courier, 29 October 1913).
