A George II silver swing-handled basket Edward Aldridge I & John Stamper, London 1759 Circular form, with an open-work fruiting vine border and ropetwist rim, the sides with reverse punched bead rat-tail between alternating panels of scrolls, crosses and quatrefoils, centred with an engraved crest, on a pierced circular foot, underside with presentation inscription 'To The Worshipful Company of Gardeners the gift of John Weir, Master, 1932', diameter 27.5cm, weight 27oz.
