A George III silver 'Worshipful Company of Gardeners' Past Masters' two-handled tray William Bennett, London 1809 Oval form with gadroon rim, the gadroon handles with leaf junctions, engraved around the raised border with presentation inscription 'To The Master, Wardens, Assistants and Commonatly of the Company of Gardeners of London, (incorporated 1605), this Memorial of their Past Masters was given by Benjamin Hansford, C.B., Upper Warden, 1914.', then engraved with the donors arms, in Commemoration of past Masters of the Company, the centre is engraved with the Worshipful Company of Gardeners arms and the names of Masters from 1605 to 1932, then continued on the reverse until 1937, length handle to handle 74.2cm, weight 132oz.
