A Maltese silver coffee pot stamped with maker's mark underside of base 'GM' in a rectangular punch Guiseppe Maniscalco Di Andrea, rim of body with crowned M and crowned lozenge (mascle), circa 1780, Rohan period 1775 - 1797 Baluster form, with profuse later chasing to the body and cover, the hinged cover with scroll thumb piece, closed bud finial on a calyx, the dome chased with flower heads and acanthus, the body further chased with acanthus, further floral swags, rocaille and plumes to the lower body among acanthus scrolls, originally on three rocaille cartouche-capped scroll feet, a circular spreading foot added to the base to incorporate the supports, acanthus embellished covered spout with strap, wood scroll handle, height 20cm, weight total 16.1oz.
