Footnotes: These arms were granted to Mr Thomas POYNDER Esq (1780-1856) of 6 Bishops Gate Street and 2 Montagu Place, both in the City of London. In 1824 he was the Treasurer of Christs Hospital (School). The key used in the arms is intended to represent his appointment. Thomas POYNDER was born at Cornhill, London the son of Thomas POYNDER (1750-1837) by his wife Mary WIX (1752-1835). In 1808 he married Sarah Marianne COOPER (1788-1838). At the time of his death he is recorded as being the Lord of the Manor of Hillmorton, Wiltshire.
