Two pairs of George III silver candlesticks John Watson and Son, Sheffield 1815 and 1816 The nozzles applied with leaf and scroll decoration and each engraved with the arms of INNES, tulip-shaped fluted capitals with acanthus leaves and tapering fluted stem, raised on a circular foot profusely cast with c-scrolls and acanthus leaves, the stems each engraved with the arms of INNES, with loaded bases, height 28.5cm. Footnotes: This is the crest and motto associated with the arms of James INNES (1757-1826) of Knotts Green, Leyton, Essex, merchant of the City of London. He was born the eldest son and heir of Dr Robert James INNES (1730-1798) MD of Gifford Vale, co. Haddington, Scotland by his first wife Janet GIBSON (born 1732). In 1781 he married Bethia Elizabeth MAIR (1762-1828) daughter of John MAIR (1732-1824) of Renfrew, Renfrewshire by his wife Margaret THOMSON (1739-1807).
