1910-1918. Lithographed tin. Made by the Standard Oil Co., the can was sold as a necessity for maintaining buggy seats, carriage tops, and reins to prevent cracking. The absence of a paper label, the inclusion of "Directions" on the rear of the can, and the metal screw cap all indicate the can was made from 1910-1918, representing the early years of the gradual process of cars replacing horse transportation (1900-1935).
