1948-1965. Painted metal. Westinghouse was an industrial giant founded in 1886. It was the pioneer for alternating current technology, the system that ultimately became the global standard for the electrical grid. In 1895, the company collaborated with Nikola Tesla to harness the power of Niagara Falls. They began manufacturing "Auto Bulbs" in 1909, and in 1939, they were involved in the industry-wide introduction of the sealed beam headlamp (as noted on this cabinet). In 1954, the company launched the "You can be sure...if it's Westinghouse" slogan. This cabinet would have been produced from 1954 to 1965, when the St. Thomas Metal Sign company ceased operations.
