Patent model cloth varnishing machine by Samuel B.B. Nowlan. Has what appears to be original hand written patent application tag (dated May 6 1866) and patent tag (patent No. 57955) with patent date of September 11 1866. There is also a tag with a handwritten identical patent number identifying this model as being certified as a n original model from the U.S. Patent Office from the Cliff Peterson Collection (2444 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 406 Santa Monica, CA). We have printed out a copy of the original diagrams and description. There are signs of damage and repair to this wooden model. This lot also includes a small miniature display of the original sketches and description. Measures approximately 15.25" x 7.5" x 10-3/8" tall. Weight: 4.2 pounds (1.9 kg).
