Collected sermons of the French Franciscan theologian Maurice Hylaret (1539-1591), printed in Paris in 1604 by Claude Chappelet.
On the middle panels of the front and back covers is the Supralibros of Johannes V. Krug (1555 or 1556 - 1613), abbot of the Benedictine monastery in Munsterschwarzach from 1598 to 1613.
It shows Saint Felicitas of Rome with a sword and the heads of her seven beheaded sons. Below is Johannes V. Krug's coat of arms: a jug with two handles from which three roses grow.
The middle panels are framed with the inscription "Johan Kruch Apt Zu Munsterschwartzach 1600".
On the title page is Chappelet's magnificent unicorn printer's mark.
Cover slightly worn.
Very good condition, minor wear.
With stamp and spine label of a dissolved monastery library.
