[Bian Chen] Capacity: 280 cc Author: Wang Sida Clay: Original Zhu Ni (red clay), entirely handmade. Wang Sida is a craft artist, young ceramic artist, second-generation inheritor of Gu Jingzhou, member of the China Arts and Crafts Association, director of the Zisha Professional Committee of the Shanghai Arts and Crafts Association, and director of the Yixing Zisha Collection and Appreciation Professional Committee. Born in 1982 into a ceramic family in Yixing, the pottery capital, he grew up immersed in a rich ceramic environment. His father had long-term interactions with many famous figures in the ceramic world, possessing a deep understanding and knowledge of Zisha pottery. His aunt, Wang Xiangjin, is a disciple of Pei Shimin and Jiang Rong, seven veteran Zisha artists in Yixing. After graduating from high school in 2001, Wang Sida devoted himself to the Zisha art world he loved, learning the skills and realizing his dream. He apprenticed under Wu Yaping, a senior craft artist and renowned ceramic artist in Jiangsu Province, and a disciple of Gu Jingzhou, a Zisha master, diligently learning the techniques of entirely handmade Zisha production. He started from the most basic techniques, under the strict supervision of his masters. He learned the skillful techniques of making Zisha teapots entirely by hand, laying a solid foundation in Zisha art. In 2005, he began to explore the world of teapot art, establishing the "Hu Yunde" workshop to engage in Zisha art creation and innovation. His works are uniquely conceived and exquisitely crafted, possessing both traditional roots and a modern feel. He is a promising young ceramic artist whose works have won numerous gold awards in national competitions by the China Arts and Crafts Association. With the care of his mentors and the support of friends from all walks of life, and through his own efforts, he is gaining attention from collectors, the Zisha community, and people both inside and outside the industry as a new generation of Zisha artists.
