Description
Highly Recommended!! "Boundless Longevity of Pine" by Xu Xiaokui (born 1935), a contemporary master of Yixing clay teapots and former director of the Third Yixing Clay Factory. Made from early-stage peach blossom clay, 360cc, with 10 parallel spout holes. This piece, themed around the pine tree, features a wide body and narrow base, with a harmonious proportion. The spout, handle, and knob are all inspired by a section of pine branch, while the leaves at the knob are vibrant green and full of life. The teapot body features a delicate, intricately carved window-shaped design, a highly challenging technique. The poem reads, "White hair sprouts, long life abounds; the pine tree in the courtyard should grow branches for future generations." The entire piece is exquisitely crafted and carries auspicious meaning; highly recommended for collection! Provenance:Private collection from a professor in Newcastle University.
