A French kingwood, parquetry and gilt bronze mounted vitrine in the Louis XVI style Late 19th / early 20th century, retailed by Maison Boudet The brèche d'Alep marble top above an egg and dart mounted border and scrolling acanthus leaf cast frieze, the glazed and parquetry panelled door enclosing a single pine shelf and brass shelf rests (lacking shelves), the canted rounded corners mounted with entwined olive garlands on slight cabriole legs and acanthus leaf scrolled sabots, the lock plate engraved: 'Boudet 3 Bd des Capucines Paris', 85cm wide x 42cm deep x 179.5cm high, (33in wide x 16 1/2in deep x 70 1/2in high) Footnotes: Maison Boudet ranked among the foremost Parisian retailers of fine furniture, silver, and bronze in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. From 1886, it operated a prominent shop at 43, boulevard des Capucines, later expanding to a second location on the Place Vendôme after 1908. The firm offered works by some of the most celebrated cabinetmakers of the period, including Linke, Zwiener, Millet, and Bonheur.
