Description

Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central Congo Region, Bushoong, Kuba Helmet mask, 20th century. Composted of carved and tattooed wood with beads, cowrie shells, copper panels, hair, and other fibers. Delicately wrapped and stitched with a layer of woven fabric over wood with additional panels of hammered and embossed copper. Size 13" H, 21" with tassel beard, Weight 2 lb. 13.6 oz
