Nico Vrielink was born in 1958 in the Netherlands. Already at a young age he feels attracted to an artistic career. His parents enroll him at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk and later at the College of Visual Arts in Eindhoven.With his artistic diploma in his pocket, he leaves for Singapore where he meets Jeane. That meeting would be a real turning point in his life. Since then Jeane has been the thread that runs through the artist's work.Nico Vrielink works according to the academic method, i.e. from dark to clear. Besides his Jeane, another theme is particularly close to his heart: Eastern mysticism, a serene reproduction of silence and the inner self. Jeane, too, gradually becomes more serene and reserved on canvas, and the settings are also increasingly imbued with mysticism.Later work shows more diversity in persons and subjects.
