Two Ceramic Turtle Decorative Items

Description

This lot includes two distinct ceramic pieces featuring a turtle motif. The first item is a glazed ceramic turtle planter, designed with a high-gloss variegated brown finish that accentuates the molded shell and textured surface of the head and limbs. The underside of the vessel bears a gold foil manufacturer label for Deepwood Ctr. Ceramics of Mentor, Ohio. The second item is a Mexican folk art turtle figurine, hand-painted with a palette of terracotta, ochre, and black over a cream-colored base glaze. The decoration depicts a red bird amidst flowers and foliage on the shell, with large stylized eyes on the head. The base of the figurine is hand-marked Mexico J. P. in black slip.
