Description
This lot comprises a collection of mid-twentieth-century sewing items and associated paper ephemera. Included is an original instruction booklet for the Singer Electric Sewing Machine Model 201-2, Reversible Feed Lock Stitch, marked Form 20340 Rev. (551). A Singer buttonholer attachment, part number 160506, is housed in its original green textured case. The attachment features a white dial with a red S and is stamped with serial number W 654321 N and several U.S. patent numbers including 2482607, 2536620, and 2547925. A blue-grey metal tin embossed with Accessories SEWING MACHINE contains various metal presser feet and specialized sewing attachments, including parts marked U.S.A. PAT. 2598319. Three needle books are included. The Atomic brand book features a space-age rocket illustration and is labeled as containing 85 assorted needles. The Happy Home brand book is marked Japan and features an illustration of three women. The third is a souvenir A Century of Progress needle book from the 1933 Chicago World Fair, depicting the Field Museum and the Hall of Science.
