SERIAL NUMBER: 23708. BARREL: 3 1/2". CALIBER: .28. This Colt 1855 model 2 Revolver (often called the "Root revolver") is known for its side hammer, solid steel frame, and unique creeping loading lever. Key parts include the solid frame, side-mounted hammer, "creeping" loading lever, octagonal barrel, un-fluted 5-shot cylinder, cylinder pin, spurred trigger, and one-piece grips. CONDITION: Good. The finish is a nice silvery patina with light character pitting. Good trigger and mainspring. short fit grips with minor dings. The revolver will index albeit inconsistently. ANTIQUE
