MUCHA ALPHONSE: (1860-1939) Czechoslovakian painter and decorative artist in the Art Nouveau style. Vintage signed colour postcard, being a reproduction of Mucha's image entitled Samostatnost (Independence) and featuring an image of George of Podebrady, King of Bohemia in the fifteenth century. The postcard would appear to date from around 1911 when the Municipal House in Prague was built and where the original of Mucha's painting is on permanent display. Signed ('Mucha') in neat fountain pen ink to a clear area at the base of the image. An attractive signed image. Scarce. VG
