A 19th century Chinese basket with spout, hand-carved and lacquered in red. This circular basket displays a globular belly mounted on a cylindrical base. The flat top opens thanks to a hinged half-lid and a spout. This basket showcases a tall handle with carved foliage details and openwork at top. The basket is made with red lacquered wood with a dark patina. This Chinese 19th century, hand-carved red lacquered basket with spout would be a beautiful and eye catching decorative item in any home, perhaps sitting on its own on a dining room table or among other accessories gracing a living room.
