Description
This one of a kind Brutalist sculpture is produced by the skilled listed artist Ellen Lord of Austin Productions, signed. Brutalism emerged in the 50s in The United Kingdom among the reconstruction projects of the post-war era. This piece stand at 20" tall, 10" deep and 8" wide. This sculpture is made from Ironstone and appears greyish green and is from 1963. The subject matter of this piece is a warrior looking upward in supplication. Under his right foot are the remnants of a broken sword, as if to imply that he is in the process of asking for forgiveness for all his war time battle of broken souls and lifeless bodies. I purchased this lovely piece from a antique store Portland, OR.
