Edgefield District Large Stoneware Jug

Description

A large Edgefield District stoneware jug with applied lug handles, round ovoid body tapering to a round base, and a flared rim. Incised with the number two below one of the lug handles and bears a slave mark. It measures approximately 15 1/4 in H x 12 in. W x 12 inches deep. Some loss to the rim and cracks originating from the rim.
