Description
A hardback copy of "German Infantryman at War" 1935-1945 by George Forty in good to very good condition overall. German Infantryman at War 1939–1945 is a visual history book authored by British military historian George Forty. It primarily uses a collection of rare, previously unpublished photographs and personal diaries to document the experiences of the common German foot soldier (Landser) fighting on the front lines. The book, published in 2002, centers around the wartime experiences of Feldwebel Gerhard Sandmann. Sandmann's personal photographs and experiences serve as the backbone of the narrative, following his infantry service from the 1940 invasion of France and the Low Countries to the Eastern Front, and his eventual capture by the U.S. Army in 1944. Estimated value based on similar online sales $15-30.
