This is a comprehensive, declassified engineering design handbook published by the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC Pamphlet AMCP 706-250) in August 1964. The manual is part of the broader Army Engineering Design Handbook Series. It was originally compiled by The Franklin Institute and Duke University to provide engineers and military contractors with foundational, unclassified data on firearms design. Core topics covered include: operating principles, design classification, physical and mechanical properties, and muzzle devices.
