A 1966 dated Vietnam War era "Military Pyrotechnics" US Department of the Army issued technical manual in good to very good condition overall. Military pyrotechnics are combustible or explosive devices utilized by armed forces for illumination, signaling, and battle simulation. Standardized by the US Department of the Army, these items range from illuminating flares and colored smoke signals to artillery simulators and are typically classified under Federal Supply Class (FSC) 1370.In the mid-1960s (c. 1966), the US Army Material Command produced extensive reference literature—such as the Engineering Design Handbook series (e.g., AMCP 706-185 through AMCP 706-189)—to define, design, and regulate these devices.
