Description
A Vietnam War era 1969 dated US Department of the Army issued paperback copy of the technical manual Engineering Design Handbook: "Liquid Filled Projectile Design" in very good condition overall. The US Dept of the Army Engineering Design Handbook: "Liquid Filled Projectile Design" (identified as AMC Pamphlet AMCP 706-165) is a technical reference manual. It provides ballistic engineers with theoretical methods and practical rules to design dynamically stable liquid-filled projectiles, which otherwise exhibit erratic flight behavior. Bulk liquid payloads—such as white phosphorus, chemical agents, or training simulants—behave in highly unpredictable ways during flight. Historically, addressing instability issues was limited to trial-and-error methodologies, which were costly and time-consuming. The handbook was published in April 1969 to give designers analytical, physics-based frameworks to mathematically understand the fluid dynamics of liquid-filled shells.
