1891 Brühl - 1976 Paris - "Samuel Beckett, From an Abandoned Work" - (1967) Color etching/paper. 22/45. 20.5 x 17 cm, 38 x 28 cm, 45.5 x 35.5 cm (frame size). Signed lower right: Max Ernst. Framed under glass. Max Ernst studied philosophy in Bonn from 1909 to 1914 and, among others, co-founded the Cologne Dada movement with Hans Arp in 1919. In Paris, where he lived from 1922, he was one of the co-founders of Surrealism. The work dates from 1950 and was printed by Desjobert in Paris.
