Vintage Sterling Inlaid Abalone Earrings, Screwback, Mexico, 1950's-1970's, possibly older. These are rectangular and slightly rounded and appx. 1" by 3/4". They are marked sterling and Taxco, Mexico. The screwback mechanism is mounted over the maker's mark and therefore all information cannot be seen - the initials of the maker or other markings. These have a weight of appx. 5.53 grams and do test as sterling. Very good condition with typical oxidation that can be polished awy. The abalone is inlaid between the frame and additional sterling design within the inside of the frame of the rectangle. (W5226.1X1 SS17715 J LD 5/17/26).
