Description:Vintage Zuni Inlaid Butterfly Brooch/Pendant, MOP, Onyx, Coral, Turquoise, 1970's-1980's, Signed. This is appx. 1.25" tall and wide with both a bail for pendant and pin for brooch. The wings have inlaid mother-of-pearl with black dots, inlaid coral, onyx and turquiose and also what appears to be tortoiseshell. The inlaid pieces are set raised on the sterling base in sawtooth bezel-settins. It is signed He Cellicion which is Herbert Cellicion . Herbert E. and Ester Cellicion are Zuni silversmiths who have been making jewelry for decades - from at least the 1970's onward. It is not marked .925 but tests as sterling with an appx. weight of 6.83 grams. It is in very good condition - it has the look of a handmade piece with a uniqueness to the shape and arrangement - not like a mass produced piece. Their pieces do have a following with prices above the rates by mroe mass produced pieces. (SY25.1X SS15868 J LD 6/13/25).
