Description
A rounded disk of amber has been embellished with silver mounts and turquoise decoration. The amber is a deep golden color with red lines. There are what look like bark and bubbles embedded in it. The silver mount has a loop at the top for a cord and a small cylindrical silver loop at the base to hold something decorative.
MEASUREMENTS
2 in (5.1 cm) wide x 1 ½ in (3.8 cm) tall. Weighs .8 oz.
CONDITION
The top portion of the silver medallion on the front is missing, along with the small round turquoise cabochon that would have originally been set in its center. The back of the amber shows light wear and a trace of adhesive, likely the same material used to secure the mounts. Under magnification, a faint crack is visible along the side of the amber, most likely caused during the attachment of the mount.
