ABOUT THE ARTIST: Khmelnitsky Olexandr Anatolievich - was born on 2nd of August 1924 in Kharkiv. He studied at the Kharkiv State Art Institute. Mentors: Lyubimsky A., Rybalchenko M., Kotova P. He taught at the Kharkiv Art and Industry Institute. Since 1956 he has been a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 1951 he has taken part in republican, all-Union, and foreign exhibitions. Personal exhibitions were held in Kharkiv in 1989, 1995,1998, and in Simferopol in 1997. Since 1978 he has been a professor at the Kharkiv Art and Industrial Institute. Since 1984 the National Artist of Ukraine. He was a corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine since 1997. His works are represented in museums, galleries, and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. The artist died on the 5th of June 1998.
