Vintage Sterling Vermeil Sapphire Illusion Tennis Bracelet, 7.5", Signed R, Two-Tone. ZO The bracelet has silver X illusion links with a deep blue sapphire every two links. The sapphires look black but are very dark blue. They are oval and appx. .25 ctw each. Seven sapphires with 1.75 TCW. The undercarries and sides and clasp are yellow gold over sterling. Tests as sterling and is marked and the weight is appx. 9.41 gr. It is appx. 4mm wide. Age is appx. 1980's-1990's. The illusion look in the X links are prong-like bumps to give it the look of diamonds. There are no diamonds or other stones. A common design to keep costs down and make the piece affordable. Good to very good condition with light wear at the clasp. It does have a safety lock on one side. The sapphires test as sapphire - could be lab grown which is not glass but a crystal that is grown in a lab made of the same things that make up a sapphire occurring in nature. They have all the same properties as a natural stone, hardness, specific gravity, etc. (W121722.1X4 SS9377 J LD 1/17/23).
