About the sculptor: Evgeny Ivanovich Naps was a self-taught sculptor, restorer, draftsman and painter. In St. Petersburg he was engaged in the restoration of porcelain, small plastics and bronze sculptures for antique dealers and collectors. He created small copies and variations of works by Russian sculptors for the capital's factories producing bronze sculpture. The bronze statuettes created by Naps were bought by representatives of different walks of life.
