Rudolf Kaesbach studied at the academies in Hanau (drawing), Paris (foundry) and Brussels. In Düsseldorf he ran a workshop in which he cast according to his own models. [1]
From 1904 he worked as a sculptor in Berlin and appeared in public with a series of life-size marble figures at exhibitions in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Malmö. Later he devoted himself increasingly to the representation of female nudes. Much of his work led beyond Art Nouveau [2] to Art Deco. [3]
In 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1943 Kaesbach showed his sculptures at the Great German Art Exhibitions in the House of German Art in Munich. These exhibitions were representative of art under National Socialism.
