Description: The Byōbu Japanese folding screen features a hand-painted scene on a gold leaf background, depicting plum blossoms and birds, screens madeno with a lightweight wood frame covered with layers of waByōbu iconic collectible vintage Japanese 4-panel hand-painted folding screen. 36h x 17.5w per panelshi paper and connected by paper hinges, allowing them tohi fold in both directions, backside of screen features gold scroll pattern. 80s
Translating literally to "wind wall," are traditional Japanese folding screens consisting of multiple panels covered in paper or silk, often adorned with paintings and calligraphy. Originally introduced from China in the 8th century, these screens were used to divide interior spaces, provide privacy, and block drafts.
