Ming Dynasty Bluestone Door Pier Carved with Tortoise Shell Patterns is wholly carved from bluestone with a neat and grand shape, classic tortoise shell patterns are carved on the stone surface, the bottom adopts the structure of curved legs, rolled feet and arched aprons, and lotus patterns are carved on the upper part, the lines are concise and fluent, the whole work is made of heavy materials with multi-layered rich patina, presenting an elegant, simple and grand style, the door pier is 92 cm in height, 56 cm in length and 26 cm in width, door piers are supporting stone components for traditional residences, tortoise shell patterns symbolize longevity and lotus represents purity and good fortune, this door pier completely retains the stone carving craftsmanship and architectural decorative style of the Ming Dynasty and is a precious physical relic for researching ancient architectural stone carving and folk culture.
