You do not want to miss this authentic work from Erte, the master of art deco. ERTE: The Russian-born painter Romain de Tirtoff, who called himself Erté after the French pronunciation of his initials, was one of the foremost fashion and stage designers of the early twentieth century. From the sensational silver lamé costume, complete with pearl wings and ebony-plumed cap, that he wore to a ball in 1914, to his magical and elegant designs for the Broadway musical Stardust in 1988, Erté pursued his chosen career with unflagging zest and creativity for almost 80 years. On his death in 1990, he was hailed as the "prince of the music hall" and "a mirror of fashion for 75 years". Erte's artworks have sold for very high prices at major auction houses, and even higher in Galleries, around the world. However, this is your chance to own an original serigraph at a much better price than those retail outlets command. The artwork here, "The End of Romance", is a wonderful depiction of an elegantly dressed woman standing by a cupid statue in the snow, that was created with acute detail, and vibrant color throughout, making it one of the nicest pieces by Erte we have ever made available. Also, measuring approximately 26†x 20†and 38†x 32†with the high-quality frame, the immaculate artwork is of impressive craftsmanship and size. Finally, it has remained in excellent condition since being published, is signed in the lower right corner, numbered 269 of 300, and comes with a Gallery Letter of Authenticity. So remember again, we have listed serigraph with the Submit Best Offer option, meaning it is likely to sell quickly. Erte's art has been exhibited in major museums, and can be found in some of the most prestigious public and private collections across the globe.
