Dear friends in order to ensure maximum safety to the painting - we will send the painting rolled on a roll and after receiving you can pull it onto the stretcher. About the artist: Kuznetsov, Nikolai Dmitrievich - a painter of everyday scenes and a portrait painter, the son of a large landowner in the Kherson province. Born in 1850. Influenced by his passion for traveling art exhibitions, he began to practice painting and soon entered the students of the Imperial Academy of Arts, from whom he received three silver medals.
He began to exhibit his works in 1881 at the exhibitions of the Partnership of Traveling Art Exhibitions [6]. In 1897 he was appointed professor - head of the workshop of battle painting, but held this position for only two years [3].
Often traveled abroad, getting acquainted with contemporary foreign artists and acquiring their works, which made up his gallery, one of the best in the south of Russia.
Of Kuznetsov's paintings, more than others attracted attention: "Detour of possessions", "Little Russian woman resting on the grass" (or "On a holiday"), "Hunting with greyhounds", "After lunch", "Key housekeeper", "Flock of pigs" ( all six in the Tretyakov Gallery [9], in Moscow), "Walk in the Village", "Old Landowner", "Herd of Oxen", "World Mediator", "Dog Training", "Sleeping Girl" (acquired by Emperor Alexander III [8 ]) and portraits: natural scientist A. O. Kovalevsky (in the State Russian Museum), I. E. Repin, V. M. Vasnetsov, Count M. M. Tolstoy, P. I. Tchaikovsk wow (in the Tretyakov Gallery, in Moscow), Mrs. Tereshchenko, singer Chaliapin and others [10].
Possessing extraordinary physical data, Kuznetsov served as the prototype of the executioner depicted in the painting of Ilya Repin, "Nikolai Mirlikijsky eliminates the death of three innocently convicted", as well as the eldest son of Taras Bulba - Ostap (Cossack with bandaged head) in the painting "Cossacks writing a letter to the Turkish Sultan".
