About the artist: Born in the city of Yevpatoriya, Crimea, in 1865. Graduated: "Imperial Academy of Arts" 1889-97. He participated in exhibitions of the Wanderers 1916, 1917. Important exhibitions: "The First Izdeb Salon" 1909-10. Member of the Society of Russian Watercolorists; "Kuindzhi Society" since 1909 (co-founder). Specialized in landscapes. Taught: Art School at the Society for the Promotion of the Arts 1897-1919. He lived and worked in St. Petersburg / Petrograd until 1920, emigrated to London. He died in London in 1929.
