Born in the village of Ivanovka, Poltava region. Studied at the Kiev Art College (1931-1934). Graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute (1942), where he studied under P. Kotov, K. Trokhimenko, S. Grigoriev, K. Eleva. He was awarded medals and an honorary diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (since 1972). Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. His works are presented in the Lviv Museum of Ukrainian Art, Odessa Art Museum, Alupka Palace Museum, etc. He participated in numerous exhibitions (since 1943). The master's works are rarely found on the antique market.
