Born in the village of Ivanivka, Poltava region. He studied at the Kiev Art College (1931-1934). He graduated from KHI (1942), where he studied with P. Kotov, K. Trokhimenko, S. Grigoriev, K. Yeleva. He was awarded the medals and diploma of honor of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Honored Artist of the USSR (since 1972). Member of the SSU. The works are presented in the Lviv Museum of Ukrainian Art, the Odessa Art Museum, the Alupkin Palace Museum and others. Participant in numerous exhibitions (since 1943). Master's works are rarely found in the antique market.
