Honored Artist of Ukraine.<br.Sergey Gavrilovich Shapovalov was born on May 15, 1943 in the village of Ingulo-Kamenka, Novgorodkovsky district, Kirovograd region.<br.In 1962 he graduated from the Alexandria Pedagogical School.<br.In 1968 he entered the Kiev State Art Institute at the Faculty of Painting. Teachers - V. Gurin, V. Shatalin.<br.After graduating from the institute, he was sent to work in the Kirovograd art-production workshops.<br.Shapovalov S.G. - Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1989.<br.Works in the field of easel painting. Master of landscapes and still lifes in a realistic manner.<br.Participant of city, regional, republican art exhibitions.<br.Took part in foreign exhibitions: "New York, Inter-Expo 2002" (USA); "Russian House" Berlin, 2003 (Germany).<br.In 2004, in Guadalajara (Spain), a personal exhibition of the artist took place.<br.In Ukraine Shapovalov S.G. held more than 10 personal exhibitions (Kirovograd and Kiev).<br.In 2006 he became a laureate of the regional prize in the field of fine arts and art history named after Alexander Osmyorkin.<br.Honored Artist of Ukraine since 2008.<br.Lives and works in Kirovograd. ...<br.The works of Sergei Gavrilovich Shapovalov are in museums in Ukraine (Kiev, Izmail, Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, Kirovograd), in gallery and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
