Constructive Cover Designing published in 1923 by the Hampden Glazed Paper and Card Co. (Holyoke, MA). This is a rare and nearly complete commercial art archive of 75 of the 76 original plates. Missing the cover and introductory text. This collection represents a landmark in early 20th-century American graphic design and commercial printing. This was issued as a loose-leaf specimen portfolio and was created to showcase the premium color reproduction and texture of "Sunburst Cover" paper. The set is comprised of seventy-five (75) out of the original seventy-six (76) largeproduction lithographic plates, each measuring approximately 13??H ? 10??W. The plates feature a diverse range of graphic concepts?including high-end advertisements for luxury brands like Revillon Fr?res?printed in vivid, multi-pass color on heavy vellum-finish stock. A hallmark of the original production, the plates feature a gilt top edge and subtle press gripper marks on the left-hand side, confirming their authentic 1923 lithographic origin.
